This book is my celebration of the essential values that I believe have built the State of Israel and sustained Jewish identity. These photographs are from that time (1970-2000) when the young state moved from vulnerability and uncertainty to strength and achievement. Although my book is in the context of Israel, the photographs speak to everyone’s everyday needs and aspirations. Values of Life, Learning, Leadership, and Land have served Jewish survival precisely because they are universal, pertinent to all. My photographic portrayal of these values gives insight and hope as we face today’s challenges.
